Surprisingly, the MSI P45 Platinum pulls ahead of even the Gigabyte DDR3 X48 board and above the other P45 boards for a change, even if it is just by fractions of a frame per second on average. Compared to the older P35 generation though, the new P45s have this sewn up with its far more bandwidth friendly dual PCI-Express 2.0 x8 lanes for CrossFire rather than the unbalanced x16 and x4 used on almost all of the P35 boards released.

Again the MSI P45 Platinum performs very well indeed, and while it's a fraction faster than the Gigabyte P45 board there's still a bigger (half frame per second) gap between it and the Asus P45 board. Again compared to P35 for CrossFire, the MSI P45 (like all P45 boards) obliterates them in the performance stakes.

While the MSI holds its ground on the minimum frame rate, it drops just a touch behind the Gigabyte and Asus P45 boards here, but it still manages to creep out ahead of the Gigabyte DDR3 X48 board which is far more expensive.
